Bennetts' Removals is a small family run business with the involvement of three generations of the extended family.

Our small, friendly 'can do' team come from professional furniture delivery, auction and logistics backgrounds.

We'd like to think of ourselves as one of Hampshire's best kept secrets in the 'removals world' offering both removals and property clearances, with an eye for value.  This combination has the advantage of helping many customers declutter prior to downsizing: potentially with the chance of recouping funds from auction proceeds.

What we do

Household Moves

We take pride in seeing the entire process through from the initial site survey  to collecting the boxes once the job is complete. The person who quotes will either be with you on the day or in direct communication with the team.

We do things by the book and hold public liability insurance and goods in transit insurance and this cover comes automatically with a move - so you have peace of mind and are not met with surprise charges.

We do not charge for late keys. 

Packing Service

If you opt for the packing service we come ready with all the necessary materials, usually a day prior. 

We work room by room, wrapping, boxing and labelling contents. 

Hanging wardrobe cartons are included in all moves.

Having worked in tandem with provincial auction houses for years, rest assured that we are highly competent at all packing including fragile art and antiques. 

We also understand the pressures of family and working life and are careful to pack to instruction and leave the overnight necessities. 

House Clearances

House clearance was a natural progression for us. We have a love of social history and are not afraid to get our hands dirty. 

We are registered and licenced waste carriers. 

Although it is our last recourse, when we are at the end of the line and have tried to rehome, reuse or donate goods without success: you can rest assured that we don our hard hats and protective equipment and properly dispose of the remainder. We are always on the look out for new charity partners.

Consumers should be very careful to only use Environment Agency licenced clearers who can show their certification on request and produce a paper trail of proper waste transfer.  

Transporting non standard items

Between us we are capable of moving most things.

However if you have a non-standard item we can quote for the option of dismantling and reassembling it. Or perhaps its a question of awkward access....

Sometimes it requires a little extra planning for instance the contracting of a lift hire company.

Art and Antiques

We are often instructed to assist with transportation to auctioneers.

Our men are used to packing, wrapping, tying and stacking items of all different types to get them safely from A to B. 

It could be a single item or a whole collection.

We can also make suggestions of suitable forums for sale depending on the nature of the items.

Agents, Auctions, Solicitors

Whether you want to be directly or indirectly involved in a removal or house clearance is entirely up to you.

We are used to dealing with Agents, Auctions and Solicitors on a regular basis and are happy to collect and return keys.

We can email photographs of jobs that are complete.

Helen has been involved in the removals industry since university working both front of house and behind the scenes.

 

She has organised a multitude of moves to pressurised deadlines. Her art market valuation background enables her to not only survey the logistical side of jobs but also to identify value and items requiring specialist packing.

When to get in touch

We would always suggest you get in touch at as early a stage as possible as we usually book up around two weeks in advance. The first step is booking a FREE quotation. After this we will keep in touch and pencil you in for provisional dates - although they will not be official until the point of exchange and booking.

For removals we usually take a deposit at the point of booking and the balance a day prior to completion, or on the first working day (whichever falls sooner). Your booking is a commitment to a date / dates, however if things change with good notice we try our best to move your booking.
